UNIMY–ITS Surabaya:
Expanding Global Mobility and Research Collaboration

On 5th November 2025, UNIMY welcomed representatives from Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) Surabaya, Indonesia to strengthen ongoing academic collaboration and explore new opportunities for staff and students. The visit also provided a timely opportunity to reconnect with UNIMY students who previously participated in ITS’s flagship mobility initiatives.

During the meeting, ITS reaffirmed its strong support for UNIMY by highlighting the full scholarships awarded to UNIMY students who joined the two-week mobility programme in 2022, 2023 and 2025, aimed at fostering cultural exposure and technological exchange among international participants. ITS also announced two upcoming COMMTECH programmes: the Technology Edition in January 2026 and the Sustainable Edition in February 2026. For each edition, ITS will offer one full scholarship for a UNIMY student and one slot for a UNIMY staff member.

The discussion further explored collaborative research opportunities between UNIMY’s Faculty of Game Development and ITS, supported by ITS’s annual government research grant for international partnerships.

In addition, ITS proposed hosting two UNIMY staff members for a fully sponsored five-day staff exchange visit to Surabaya in May 2026.

The visit concluded with ITS sharing plans for the 15th Anniversary of the COMMTECH Programme in 2026, which will bring together alumni from around the world, including UNIMY participants, to celebrate 15 years of meaningful collaboration and global engagement.
