Objectives

The objectives of the Centre of Fintech and Islamic Finance (CFIF) as the University's Centre of Excellence (CoE), are as follows:

  • To provide through leadership, best practices and training in Islamic Finance and Financial Technology (Fintech).
  • To promote the best practices and carry out research on Islamic Finance and Financial Technology (Fintech) to bridge the gap between the academia and industry's needs as well as to provide solutions to contemporary issues.
  • To encourage collaboration with renowned Islamic Finance institutions or global Fintech companies that pushed UNIMY to a greater height.

Key Result Areas

The following are the Key Result Areas (KRAs) that have been established in order for the Centre of Fintech and Islamic Finance (CFIF) to be functionally effective.

  • Research Excellence
    To ensure CFIF contributes to the creation and management of knowledge in Islamic Finance & Fintech by providing excellence in research and thought leadership.
  • Reputation
    To create and maintain the reputation of CFIF as the leading research authority on Islamic Finance & Fintech and as a source of reference to stakeholders at both local and international levels.
  • Financial Sustainability
    To ensure the resources CFIF are developed and managed in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Best Practices
    To promote best practices, provide support and direction on organisational change management, standardised methods of approach and process, tools, methodologies and knowledge centers.
  • Training
    To provide upskilling in business technology, assessments, e-learning curriculum, classroom training, professional certification programmes for students, academic staff and industry professionals.
  • Fintech
    To enhance blockchain technology utilisation, acceptance of cryptocurrency, digital currency law, digital banking, identify new technologies, learn new skills and develop appropriate processes that are subsequently deployed, throughout the other business units of the organisation.
