Why This Programme Matters

  • Built for professional game studios, with practical training in game technology, development, and production.
  • Students move from gameplay and level design into AI, physics, engine architecture, and mobile game programming.
  • Southeast Asia’s gaming market is expanding rapidly, while the global gaming industry is projected to reach USD 300 billion by 2030.
  • Aligned with Malaysia’s Creative Economy Master Plan and Digital Economy Blueprint, the programme helps students graduate with a strong technical portfolio and career-ready game development skills.

This is not an arts degree with coding added on. UNIMY’s game development programme is built around game technology — the technical, creative, and production skills professional studios need. Students progress from gameplay and level design into programming, game AI, engine architecture, physics, mobile game programming, full-scale production, and a Final Year Project. With Southeast Asia among the fastest-growing gaming markets, including Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, and the Philippines, and game skills transferring into defence simulation, medical training, film VFX, and spatial computing, graduates are prepared for careers in gaming and the wider digital economy.
