The University Malaysia of Computer Science & Engineering (UNIMY) is thrilled to welcome students from Dong-Eui University, Busan, South Korea, as part of the International Student Exchange Mobility (ISEM-Inbound) Programme.

Greeting the international guests was Prof. Salwani Binti Mohd Daud, Vice Chancellor of UNIMY, who warmly welcomed the group of 20 participants on their first visit to Malaysia. Here, they’ll take part in a specially crafted English Summer Camp filled with games, activities, and learning opportunities.

The English Summer Camp

This month-long programme is designed to boost the students’ English language proficiency, blending classroom instruction with enriching cultural activities for a well-rounded learning experience.

At its core are intensive English classes tailored for non-native speakers, focused on strengthening speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills. The curriculum leans on interactive methods — group discussions, presentations, and practical exercises — led by experienced instructors, so students learn while genuinely enjoying the process.

Diverse Workshops and Cultural Immersion

Beyond the classroom, the camp offers a wide range of cultural activities to give students a deeper feel for Malaysian culture — including traditional dance workshops, culinary experiences, and visits to historical sites. These give students a chance to practice their English in real-world settings while picking up local customs along the way.

The programme’s workshop track covers key topics such as Cyber Security, Python, Microbits, and Robotics, equipping students with practical digital skills. Study visits to relevant companies and factories round out the experience with industry exposure, alongside sightseeing tours that introduce students to Malaysia’s vibrant, diverse culture.

Global Connections and Lasting Friendships

This summer camp is another meaningful part of UNIMY’s international initiatives, reflecting the university’s commitment to building global connections. Beyond the educational value, the exchange programme fosters cultural understanding and international cooperation.

As the Dong-Eui University students settle into life at UNIMY, the hope is that they’ll leave not just with new knowledge, but with lasting friendships — a bridge connecting students from different backgrounds into a truly global community of learners.
