When the end of university years is approaching, the one thing that most students would look forward to is that moment when they are able to call themselves graduates and pose in the meaningful graduation gown and mortarboard. However, this time around, a lot of things have changed and are no longer the same. Who would have thought that this pandemic would hit us hard and affect our lives in so many ways, right?

Institutions across the globe are postponing the most important event for university graduates when all are forced to halt any big gatherings including the graduation ceremony. Despite not being able to gather in-person because of the COVID-19 pandemic, UNIMY believes that its graduates still deserve to be conferred and celebrated for working incredibly hard to get to this moment.

On Thursday, August 27, the UNIMY family decided to honour the graduates virtually and commend them on their tremendous achievements. The ceremony, posted online on UNIMY official Facebook page, featured UNIMY Vice Chancellor, the virtual conferral of diplomas and degrees by respective Head of Programmes, and congratulatory wishes by UNIMY Staff. CONGRATULATIONS to everyone in the UNIMY CLASS OF 2019/2020!

The special online conferment ceremony welcomed 161 students to UNIMY alumni ranks, and we had all joined in to experience the important milestone in ways none of us expected. In his remarks to the Class of 2019/2020, UNIMY Vice Chancellor, Professor Datuk Ts. Dr. Mohd Razali Muhamad stressed on the importance of education as an effective enabler for every human being to improve and make a mark in their lives, and that we at UNIMY wishes all graduates will be able to fly high and scale beyond their limits with the skills and tools gained from the university.

Once again, Congratulations Graduates, and remember, “Nothing in this world is impossible. Even the word itself says that ‘I M POSSIBLE’.”

UNIMY is still looking forward to plan for a physical Graduation ceremony for its graduates. Hopefully, we will be able to celebrate the commencement together next year, so stay tuned for the details of the event.
