Students will learn the solid core of computer science through a mix of theoretical and practical experience. Graduates of the programme will be equipped with excellent programming skills and capable of designing, implementing and optimising innovative software applications. As computer science is a rapidly evolving discipline with strong links to many other fields, the programme also provides them with unparalleled flexibility to pursue their interests and the ability to gain in-depth knowledge in the other areas.
*STPM: Pass STPM with 2 Grade C (GPA 2.0) in any subjects
*GCE A-LEVEL: 2 Passes in A-Level
UEC: 5 Grade B in any subjects including Additional / Advanced / Further Mathematics OR (refer to Mathematic Requirement below)
*FOUNDATION/ MATRICULATION: Pass Matriculation or Foundation studies with minimum CGPA of 2.0
Pass Diploma with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 in relevant field.
Pass Diploma in related fields between CGPA 2.0-2.5 or Diploma in other fields with min. CGPA 2.50+ CGPA may be admitted subject to rigorous UNIMY assessment.
Pass Diploma in Vocational or Technical (DKM/DKLM/DVM) with minimum CGPA 2.50 in relevant field
Pass Diploma in related fields between CGPA 2.0-2.5 with min 2 years work experience in relevant field
AND (Mathematic Requirement)
a Credit in Additional Mathematics at SPM/ IGCSE/ O-Level
a Credit in Mathematics and Science or ICT subject at SPM/ IGCSE/ O-Level. Candidates need to do a Pre-Requisite module: Mathematics 2 in the first semester of Degree Programme.
Candidates without a credit in Additional Mathematics at SPM level or its equivalent may be admitted if the Foundation/Diploma programme contains subject in Mathematics that are equivalent to additional mathematics at SPM Level.
**Passed with at least grade E at SPM level for the following three (3) subjects: English, Mathematics, and one Science/ICT subject OR
Candidates from non-relevant IT with no SPM, must pass UNIMY Bridging Program

The educational objectives of the Bachelor of Computer Engineering with Honours programme are to facilitate students to become:

STATEMENT OF POs
At the end of this programme, students should be able to:
PO1 Engineering Knowledge. Apply knowledge of mathematics, science, and computer engineering.
PO2 Problem Analysis - Identify, formulate, conduct research literature and analyse complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences and engineering sciences (WK1 to WK4);
PO3 Design/Development of Solutions - Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design systems, components or processes that meet specified needs with appropriate consideration for public health and safety, cultural, societal, and environmental considerations (WK5);
PO4 Investigation - Conduct investigation of complex engineering problems using research-based knowledge (WK8) and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of information to provide valid conclusions;
PO5 Modern Tool Usage - Create, select and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools, including prediction and modelling, to complex engineering problems, with an understanding of the limitations (WK6);
PO6 The Engineer and Society - Apply reasoning informed by contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to professional engineering practice and solutions to complex engineering problems (WK7);
PO7 Environment and Sustainability - Understand and evaluate the sustainability and impact of professional engineering work in the solutions of complex engineering problems in societal and environmental contexts. (WK7);
PO8 Ethics - Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of engineering practice (WK7);
PO9 Individual and Team Work - Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams and in multi-disciplinary settings;
P10 Communication - Communicate effectively on complex engineering activities with the engineering community and with society at large, such as being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions;
P11 Project Management and Finance - Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of engineering management principles and economic decision making and apply these to one’s own work, as a member and leader in a team, to manage projects in multidisciplinary environments;

Industry Research Project Title : AI/Predictive Analytics for Smart Maintenance of Downstream Plant Operation in Oil & Gas Sector. (PhD Computing 1x Position + Master of Science - computer science 2x Position).
This project is sponsored by Serba Dinamik Group Bhd.
This Industry research project will focus into development :-
- To develop a Core AI/ Predictive Analytics engine based on data-driven problem solving integrate with existing Smart Maintenance solutions.
- Develop intelligent AI systems which comply with HS&E procedures and requirement.
- Develop intelligent AI systems which will focus less time spent on brute-force information extraction and validation.
- A Malaysian;
- Familiar and experience in developing AI/Analytics solutions using KERAS, TensorFlow, Python, R, SAS, Tableau.
- Has completed MSc. in the relevant and related field (Data Analytics/Computer Science/Systems Engineering) with a minimum CGPA of 3.00; (For PhD computing candidates Placement).
- Has completed Bachelor’s degree in the relevant and related field (Data Analytics/Computer Science/Systems Engineering) with a minimum CGPA of 3.00; (Master by Research student placement).
Industry working experience in the relevant and related field of not less than 3 years with minimum CGPA of 2.75;
Research experience in the relevant and related field of not less than 3 years with 2 journal publications with minimum CGPA of 2.75; and
Able to travel as much as the job requires
Benefits: Allowance up to RM 2,500 monthly (PhD) OR RM2,000 (Master). Upon successful and completion of the project, candidate will be awarded with Master or Doctoral Degree.
