CYBERJAYA, 13 January 2021 – The Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Malaysia, H.E. Mr. Walid Abu Ali, recently visited University Malaysia of Computer Science and Engineering (UNIMY) to handover a Certificate of Recognition to the UNIMY Vice Chancellor, Professor Datuk Ts. Dr. Mohd Razali Muhamad.
His Excellency was accompanied by the First Counsellor of the Palestine Embassy, Mr. Mohammad Abudagga and a delegate from Palestine Embassy, Dr. Yousef Al Madhoun. Also present at the event were UNIMY Deputy Vice Chancellor, Ts. Dr. Zulkarnain Kedah and UNIMY Registrar, Madam Norpisah Mat Isa.
Welcoming the Palestinian diplomats to UNIMY campus, Professor Datuk Ts. Dr. Mohd Razali Muhamad expressed his gratitude to H.E. Mr. Walid Abu Ali for recognising UNIMY as a prominent higher learning institution for Palestinian students to further their studies. He stated that the recognition is another step forward for UNIMY to attract more international students who have a strong interest in digital technology.
Besides recognising UNIMY, the Certificate of Recognition was also presented to acknowledge that the university is offering three (3) full scholarships for Palestinians who decide to apply for Undergraduate or Postgraduate programmes at UNIMY. The selection of students for the sponsorship will be carried out by the Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Malaysia.
“We hope that more Palestinian students will choose UNIMY as a study destination as they will get to try out many new and exciting opportunities while developing the skills, knowledge, critical thinking, leadership, and connections to drive forward their careers,” said Professor Datuk Ts. Dr. Mohd Razali Muhamad.
He also highlighted that UNIMY take pride of its teaching and learning quality to ensure all students are nurtured and prepared to become all-rounders in the suitable industry, while exposing the students with knowledge and skills that would be helpful in guiding them to build a career in the era of IR4.0.
“Besides following the leading-edge curriculum, students will be given the opportunity to be involved in a range of co-curriculum activities and experience the international atmosphere,” said Professor Datuk Ts. Dr. Mohd Razali Muhamad at the Certificate of Recognition Handover Ceremony.

Mr. Walid Abu Ali, UNIMY aspire to give the Palestinian youth more confidence to study at UNIMY and strengthen its relationship with the Embassy of the State of Palestine. The two entities will also explore other possible collaborations in near future.
UNIMY will be having open day on 6 & 7 February 2021, at Level 3A, Star Central, Cyberjaya from 10am – 5pm.
