From 1 to 3 April 2016, University Malaysia of Computer Science and Engineering sent three Student Representative Council (SRC) members, Nur Azni Nasuha, Eikma Rizal and Nazri Syah, as well as representative from Centre for Student Affairs and Development (CSAD), Miss Anizah, to National Young Leadership Symposium, NYLS 2016. This symposium was held at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Skudai for three days and two nights. It has gathered all young leaders from public and private universities, community colleges, Institute of Teachers’ Education (IPG) and MARA Polytechnic colleges.
This symposium aims to offer students the opportunity to voice their concern and opinions with regards to both international and local issues. This event had a line-up of a a few big names in Malaysia like Presiden Yayasan Minda, Senator Prof. Tan Sri Dato' Seri Dr. Ibrahim Abu Shah, the founder of The Zhariff Iniative, Muhammad Zharif Affandi and many more to give a talk and communicate in a forum session, sharing their experience and discussing about national issues.
Among the activities, all participants are divided in groups called Collective Impact Group (CIG) and provided with a topic or issue to which they need to discuss and come out with solution. Each group had to present their solution on the last day of the symposium. All in all, it was a good platform for student leaders to exchange creative and innovative ideas in the face of current challenges.
