The Objectives of Centre of Fintech and Islamic Finance (CFIF) as the University’s Center of Excellence(CoE), are as follows:
- To provide thought leadership, best practices and training in Islamic Finance and Financial Technology (FinTech).
- To promote best practices and carry out research on Islamic Finance and FinTech to bridge the gap between the academia and industry’s needs as well as to provide solutions to contemporary issues.
- To encourage collaboration with renowned Islamic Finance institutions or global Fintech companies to elevate UNIMY to a greater height and achievement.
Key Result Area
In order for CFIF to be functional effectively, the following are the KRAs that should be established.
- Research Excellence
To ensure GCIF contributes to the creation and management of knowledge in Islamic Finance & FinTech by providing excellence in research and thought leadership. - Reputation
To create and maintain the reputation of GCIF as the leading research authority on Islamic Finance & Fintech and as a source of reference to stakeholders at local and international level. - Financial Sustainability
To ensure the resources of GCIF are developed and managed in an effective and efficient manner. - Best Practices
To promote best practices, provide support and direction on organizational change management, standardized of approaches/processes, tools, methodologies and knowledge centers. - Training
To provide upskilling in business technology, assessments, e-learning curriculum, classroom training, professional certification programs for students, academic staff and industry professionals. - FinTech
To enhance blockchain technology utilization, acceptance of cryptocurrency, digital currency law, digital banking, identify new technologies, learn new skills and develop appropriate processes that are subsequently deployed throughout the other business units of the organization.
