Following its debut in April 2017, UNIMY held its second Trailblazing The World Through Digital Economy event on 8 July 2017, organised by UNIMY students themselves. Held at MaGIC Malaysia in Cyberjaya, the one-day event is planned as a connecting session between industry and student with the aim to bridge the gap between classes and real-life environment. On top of that, it is also a platform for students to experience the industry environment through conversations and discussions with professionals and also getting invaluable insights as well as expert advice.

Among those invited to the event were:

1. Pang Yee Beng (Senior Vice President, APJ, DELL EMC)

2. Haziq Faris (CEO & Co-Founder, REKA Studios)

3. Nadiah Abdullah (Chief HR Officer, SP Setia)

4. Dani Michaux (Head of ID Advisory, ASEAN and ASPAC Cyber Security Lead, KPMG Malaysia)

5. Elain Lockman (Co-Founder, ATA Plus)

The event also featured a track on women in technology as part of UNIMY’s commitment in exploring the digital economy through industry linkage so that its sutdents are well prepared for the industry when they graduate.

During the same event, students also attended a digital technology-dedicated career fair with participating leading tech companies like Prestariang Berhad, EduCloud, Sistem Kawalan Imegresen Nasional Project (SKIN), UPAL, KPMG, Graduan, DNSVault, Ofisgate, Oracle University and Intellij System Solution. This was extremely beneficial for our final-year students who could get on-the-spot recruitment advice as well as hand in their resumes for potential job opportunities.
