On 15 and 16 October 2016, nine (9) students from University Malaysia of Computer Science & Engineering (UniMy) namely Ahmad Mustaqim, Jyendra, Yuuki Lee Li Yen, Lee Oi Jan, Nurul Syakirah, Muhd Khairul Amri, Norsyawani, Yuliana Jasril and Norfatin Farhana participated in Citizens of Putrajaya (CoPJ) Volunteer Weekend. The event organised by Yayasan Sukarelawan Siswa (YSS) took place at Herriot-Watt University, Presint 5, Presint 8, Presint 9 and Presint 18 in Putrajaya.
The volunteers consisted of students from tertiary institution around Putrajaya, Selangor and Kuala Lumpur. Volunteers from Kolej Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (KUTAR), International Islamic University of Malaysia (IIUM), Universiti Pertahanan Nasional Malaysia (UPNM), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) and Universiti Selangor (UNISEL) are among those who participated as well as make the 2 days event went successfully. The event consisted of different clusters which focus on education, health, agroBio, disaster crisis management, and community and environment development. While volunteers’ participation are more into helping out on communal work on their own clusters, they also played an important role to promote the event to the neighbourhood area.
Apart from the networking session that could be done among the volunteers, this event would benefit them as they would get exposure on how to develop their interest to get into the Yayasan Sukarelawan Siswa (YSS) in the near future.
