On 23 August 2017, UNIMY hosted Mr Muhammadi Muzaffar Munavvarzod, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tajikistan to Malaysia; Mrs Rahmonova Zuhro, Second Secretary, Head of Consular Section of the Republic of Tajikistan to Malaysia; and Mr Parviz Mirzoev, Third Secretary of the Republic of Tajikistan to Malaysia from the Embassy of Tajikistan to our beautiful campus. They were welcomed by Vice Chancellor, Prof Datuk Dr. Khairuddin Abdul Hamid, UNIMY lecturers and deans.
The purpose of the visit was to explore a potential collaboration between UNIMY and Tajikistan in terms of international enrollments. During the visit, our guests were taken on a campus tour and introduced to all our deans. Also present was Dr. Gan Chew Yan, Dean from the Centre for Foundation Studies who shared details on the application process for international students.
The embassy is currently exploring universities in Malaysia that focused on digital technology for their sponsored students. UNIMY was naturally chosen as an ideal partner due to digital-focused syllabus and programmes that connect students to industry experience.
